“If you educate a man, you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman, you educate a whole nation.” (African proverb)
The proverb has a profound knowledge in it. One, education and second, man and woman. The power of education could not be imagined until you get it. Once you acquire it and get a hold on it, you become a changed person. Change starts from your mind, your way of thinking, your attitude, aptitude and everything that made you a better human. Education is not something to catch a job, earning, and a successful career. It is the magical words that open the doors of knowledge and awareness that takes you towards infinite treasure.
Proverb accordingly if the receiver is a woman, it would have more spillover effects. However there is still more to convince the world that there is nothing bad in an educated woman. The only thing that is subject to matter is the right way to do it. Roots should be planted strongly enough to stand firm. Every woman has a right to taste this pleasure in her life. From household decision making to national level men were more dominating than women. Recently Canada Prime Minister has announced his equal participation of men and women in his parliament. Canada is not the first country; there are many countries that have more female representatives, Rwanda has the highest female representation so far.
Though it is necessary, the empowerment should be in to development, and improvement keeping the limitations aside. It is a debate that empowerment with limitations is foolish. Women can do anything like men do. The notion is from the origins both creatures are different in every context. There are a lot of belongings men can’t do compared to women’s. Hence it is a natural phenomenon which we should accept it as it is. Let’s stop comparing and start establishing the world a better place to live with the contribution of men and women both.
